There are a number of accessible ways you can make your journey to Bristol, Bath and the surrounding region.
Located in the Southwest of England, Bath and Bristol are just 12km apart and connected by a high-speed train service, which also connects to London in just over an hour. The region also has fast train links to Birmingham, Manchester and Cornwall.
The region is also on the intersection of the M4 and M5 motorways, providing easy access to the rest of the country.
Bristol Airport is just half an hour from Central Bristol by bus or taxi, or 45 minutes from Bath, and is connected to over 100 UK and European destinations.

Our mainline train stations are Bath Spa (central Bath), Bristol Temple Meads (central Bristol), Bristol Parkway (North Bristol) and Weston Super Mare.
All stations are served by Great Western Railway (GWR) delivering routes from London Paddington, Oxford, South Wales, South Coast and the Southwest of England. The journey time from London Paddington is 75 minutes to Bristol Parkway, 80 minutes to Bath Spa and 95 minutes to Bristol Temple Meads. Whole carriages can be hired on select GWR services.
Bristol Temple Meads and Bristol Parkway are served by Cross Country Trains travelling to the North of England, Scotland and Wales. If your final destination is Bath or Weston-super-Mare then connections can be made at Bristol Temple Meads.
Bristol Temple Meads is a short 12-15 minute train journey from Bath with trains running at regular intervals throughout the day and evening.
There is the possibility of arranging a welcome desk and signage at the train stations to greet delegates upon arrival.
Delegates travelling via Eurostar will arrive in to London St Pancras Station. It is then a 11-minute journey via the London Tube network to London Paddington. GWR trains depart on a regular basis and delegate fares are available on the trains to Bath, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

Bristol Airport is located to the South of Bristol and Bath and welcomes over 100 direct flights from major European cities and worldwide connections via international hubs. There is the possibility of arranging a welcome desk and signage at the airport to greet delegates upon arrival.
The airport has a Level 4+: Transition Airport Carbon Accreditation. This is the highest score achieved by any airport in the UK and Bristol is the only airport outside of London to have achieved this. The Accreditation is the only institutionally-endorsed, global carbon management certification programme for airports.
• The Bristol Airport Flyer bus travels to and from the city centre in approximately 35 minutes.
• The Air Decker bus offers regular journeys directly to Bath City Centre, taking 45-minutes.
• Weston Airport Flyer offers frequent trips to Weston-super-Mare, taking 45-minutes.

For delegates arriving in to London Heathrow, there is a direct coach service departing from the airport to Bristol City Centre taking 180 minutes and to Bath taking 200 minutes.
Alternatively, delegates can take the Heathrow Express or Elizabeth Line on the London Tube system to London Paddington Railway Station. Delegate fares are available on the trains to Bath, Bristol and Weston-super-Mare.

Bristol is ideally located for road access from London and the rest of the UK, with the intersection of the M4 and M5 motorways located just to the north of the city and the M32 providing direct access to the centre.
From the M4, exit at Junction 19 (signposted Bristol) and follow the M32 into the city centre. From the M5, exit at Junction 18 and follow the A4 Portway (signposted Bristol Airport). North Bristol is best accessed from Junction 17 of the M5. There are also park and ride services for those driving into the city.
Bath is located just ten miles from Junction 18 of the M4 motorway, which runs directly from Central London, Heathrow Airport and South Wales. There are also excellent motorway links from the north and south of the country via the M5 motorway.
Delegates travelling by car should be aware that both Bristol and Bath operate Clean Air Zones (CAZ) with different vehicle compliance standards. Share these links with delegates in advance.
Note: The two cities apply different restrictions. If delegates are visiting both on the same trip, they need to check compliance for each city separately.

First West of England is the largest operator to run bus services throughout Bristol, Bath and the wider West of England region. You can purchase digital tickets and track buses in live time using the First Bus app. Pay by cash or card aboard all buses.
Bristol and Bath are very walkable cities. Many event venues and hotels are within a 20 minute walk of either Bristol Temple Meads and Bath Spa train stations, and accommodation and venues are close to each other.
Bristol is the UK's first Cycling City, and the region benefits from cycling routes on many of its main roads with a selection of shops offering bike hire to visitors. Scooters and e-bikes are also available to hire.
Bristol Ferry Boats water taxi service is a great way to see the city. The boat picks up from Bristol Temple Meads Railway Station, stopping at the city centre and various points of interest across the harbourside, including Brunel’s SS Great Britain.
