Sports fans love Bristol. The city is home to professional rugby, cricket, football and basketball teams, with international fixtures a common feature on the event calendar.
As well as watching professionals on the field, there are also endless sporty and active experiences on both land and water to get stuck into. These are a great way to fire up some friendly competition, build camaraderie and try something new.
This one-day itinerary pulls together some stand-out sporting incentive experiences, starting with a wellbeing boost at the city’s surf lake and ending with the thrill of a live match.
Morning - Ride The Wave together
Cheer each other on as you hop on a board at The Wave, the first inland surfing destination of its kind. At its heart is a 200m surf lagoon with consistent and safe waves, powered by solar energy. Encouraging instructors will support everyone to give it a go, seasoned surfers and complete beginners alike.
Back on dry land, spend time socialising and enjoying views over the lake as you tuck into a sustainable, locally sourced lunch in the cafe. The whole experience is an energising out-of-office reset that will leave the team refreshed.

Evening - Experience the magic of matchday and unwind at the Aztec Hotel & Spa
After a day of throwing yourselves into the action, step back into the role of spectators at one of Bristol’s sports stadiums. During the summer months, catch cricketers battling it out at Gloucestershire County Cricket Club, where you can hire out hospitality boxes with private balconies or the Korev Roof Terrace at Bristol Pavilion.
At Ashton Gate Stadium, you can watch Bristol Bears Rugby and Bristol City FC teams from the comfort of the private executive boxes. The experience includes fine dining, a dedicated host-hostess, balcony seating, VIP access and a private bar – not to mention the best views in the house.
